Advanced Memo on MTB- MLE Training

MOTHER TONGUE-BASED MULTILINGUAL EDUCATION (MTB-MLE)
TRAINING FOR DIVISION TRAINORS

To Elementary School Principals and Supervisors:

1.                            In compliance with DepED Order No. 74 s. 2009 entitled, Institutionalizing Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE), DepED Manila will conduct a five-day live-in seminar-workshop on Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE) Training for Division Trainors, from January 30 to February 3, 2012 at the Traveller’s Inn, Subic, Olongapo City. 
2.                     The seminar-workshop aims to:
·         Train division trainors for the mass training of Grade I teachers in April, 2012;
·         Equip participants with the foundational skills in teaching the Grade I curriculum  using the mother tongue; and
·         Prepare prototype instructional materials for the implementation of MTB-MLE.

3.                     Participants to the training are 71 Grade I teachers (one from every elementary school) and 12 principals (two principals from each district) who will be the division trainors in April-May 2012.  The tentative list of participants is in enclosure no. 1. 

4.                     The registration fee of participants to cover expenses for board and lodging shall be as follows:

5.                     All other incidental expenses relative to the conduct of the training shall be taken from Division INSET Funds.

6.                     Payment of the pre-registration fee of teacher and principal participants shall be made at the Accounting Services, this Division,  not later than January 20, 2012 together with the submission of confirmation/information sheet. (See enclosure no. 2)

7.                     The  participants are expected to check in at the venue on January 29, 2012 after lunch. Each participant is also advised to bring his own laptop. The first meal to be served will be snacks on January 29 and the last meal will be lunch on February 3, 2012.
