Dr.
Teodora Conde, Science Master Teacher of Bonifacio Elementary School and
Metrobank Outstanding Teacher Awardee for 2011, participated in the activity Educational
Leadership and Benchmarking to Australia’s Teaching /Learning Practices .
Together with nine other Metrobank teacher awardees, Dr, Conde stayed in
Australia from April 21 – May 5, 2012 to observe school performance, student services, teaching and
learning, school operations, government projects and excellence recognitions.
Among the benchmarking visits undertaken by the Filipino teachers were
the following:
1.Queensland
Academy for new models in pedagogical
practice and paradigm shift in teaching Science, Math and Technology
2.Education
Queensland for delivering high quality education to more than 70% of Queensland
students at different levels of basic education
3.Victorian
Department of Education for Early Childhood Development
4. Brisbane
Distance School of Education for the education of children who are unable to
study in a mainstream school.
Upon the return of Dr. Conde to the Philippines, she
worked on her re-entry plans which included, among others ,mentoring Filipino scholars of Australian Aid
and PHINMA. Dr. Conde also shared
her experiences at G. Del PIlar
Elementary School on May 29-30, 2012.
