Palarong Pambansa 2012 Held at Pangasinan/ NCR Emerges as Champion

This year, the province of Pangasinan hosted the 55th Palarong Pambansa from May 6 to 12. For the second straight year, DepEd pursued the campaign to make Palarong Pambansa an environment friendly event. Environment friendly procedures were observed during the week long event which included prohibition on the use of plastic and styrofoam containers, adoption of waste segregation schemes in the athletes' accommodations and in all games venues.
Seventeen regions  competed in seventeen events for this year's coveted championship title. Perennial champion and powerhouse National Capital Region once again defended its title and eventually claimed its seventh over-all championship.
Mr. Rizalino Jose T. Rosales, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Regional Director sent a letter to the Division of City Schools, Manila for the unwavering support it has extended the REgion through sending the best and quality athletes.  DepED Manila was also commended for contributing much to making DepED NCR retain its over-all championship .
