The Opening Ceremony of Palarong Panrehiyon 2012 was held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on February 28, 2012. With the theme "ATLETANG PILIPINO: Naiiba!Natatangi!", the opening kicked off with a parade of all delegations of the different divisions of NCR and was followed by the Opening Program at the Araneta Coliseum. After the Opening Program , a Mayor's Night was held at the Crown Plaza, Ortigas Avenue. This year's Palarong Panrehiyon is hosted by the Division of Quezon City.
