Manila elementary and secondary schools opened on Saturday, January 28,
2012 to enlist Kindergarten and Grade I entrants and to welcome back Out
of School Children (OSC) and Out of School Youth (OSY) for School Year
2012-2013. Before the activity, schools conducted advocacy campaigns to
inform the public of the conduct of early registration. Through
tarpaulins, streamers, flyers and parades, schools were able to
communicate to stakeholders the importance of enlisting early. Data
gathered from Early Registration Day would give Deped vital statistics
for addressing school needs for additional rooms, teachers, textbooks
and other facilities.
