In Memoriam: Franklin B. Marcelo, 1949-2011
Franklin B. Marcelo- teacher,
scholar, principal, leader-educator,
died at the Jose Abad Santos
Hospital , Manila on December 31, 2011 at the age of 62 . Born in Cabatuan, Isabela on February 6, 1949, he
served as teacher of Manila before being promoted as principal of Amorsolo
Elementary School. He was the principal
of P. Guevarra Elementary School when he passed away.
Sir Frank was a most sought-after speaker and resource
person for various educational conferences and seminars in the Philippines and
abroad. He was elected and served as President of the Manila Public Elementary
School Principals Association (MAPESPA) ,NCR-Philippine Elementary School
Principals’ Association (NCR-PESPA) and the Philippine Elementary School
Principals’ Association (PESPA). During his stint as principal leader, he
spearheaded projects for the professional growth and empowerment of school
heads.
Kuyang as he is most fondly called
shall be lovingly remembered by his friends, teachers and colleagues for his wit, good taste, vision and people skills.
