DepED Manila wins major prizes in the recently held Awarding Ceremony at the National Library. The awarding coincided with the opening ceremonies of the 77th National Book Week Celebration held at the National Library of the Philippines on November 24, 2011. The following received major awards from The Philippine Librarians' Association Inc. (PLAI), National Commission for Culture and the Arts-National Committee on Library and Information Services (NCCA-NCLIS) and the National Library of the Philippines (NLP):
Outstanding Public High School Library -Arellano High School
Essay Writing Contest -1st Place - April Joy DG Lapid (Arellano High School)
Poster Making Contest - 2nd Place - Lemuel Abron - (Arellano High School)
3rd Place -Jamia mei Tolentino (St. Stephen High School)
Story Telling Contest - 3rd Place -Jerome T. Garnera ( Regidor Elementary School)
