Mariano Marcos Memorial High School, a School for the Performing Arts (SPA), celebrated its 12th year as an SPA by holding a recital at the school auditorium on March 21, 2012. A well-attended affair, the recital featured performances in dance (local and foreign dances), theatre, music (vocal and instrumental renditions) and visual arts (video). DepED Manila congratulates the principal, Dr. Virginia Bermudez, the SPA teachers, students and alumni of the school for the success of the activity.

Extension of Deadline for Submission of Application for Tuition Fee Increase of Private Schools
DepED NCR Unnumbered Memorandum dated March 16, 2012 extended the deadline for submission of application for tuition fee increase effective SY 2012-2013 to March 30 of the current year. This Regional Memorandum was disseminated through Division Memorandum No. 182 dtd. March 23, 2012.
Turn-Over Ceremony of New School Building of T.Paez Integrated School
The turn-over of the new building of T.Paez Integrated School was held on March 23,2012. The four storey building has sixteen classrooms and two toilets per floor. Hon. Mayor Alfredo S. LIm during his talk to the students and teachers of T. Paez emphasized how valuable a conducive and clean environment is to the quality of learning of students. The principal of Paez Integrated is Dr.Imelda Mendez.

Awards Ceremony for Outstanding Property Custodian, 2011
The Regional Awards Ceremony for the 2011 Outstanding Property Custodian was held on Monday, March 26, 2012 at the DepED NCR Grounds during the Flag Raising Ceremonies. Mr. ERwin Aguilar, Property Custodian of Ramon Magsaysay High School was DepEd Manila's representative to the Regional Search. He received an award for 5th Place in the Search. With him during the Awarding Ceremonies were Dr. Cristina Reyes, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Mr. Felix Tumanan, Chief, Property Services and Ms. Alma Tadina, principal of Ramon Magsaysay High School.
AHON Foundation Donates Books to Juan Sumulong Elementary School
March 26, 2012 is a day the Sumulong Elementary School students, parents and teachers shall remember with gratitude. The school received books from Mr. Harvey Keh, Executive Director of AHON Foundation. Ms. Angelina Mojica partnered with the Foundation and fulfilled the school's counterpart in its agreement with AHON to provide the library with reading and storytelling areas and bookshelves. Aside from reference books, interactive reading materials and felt reading boards were provided by AHON Foundation.
Juan Sumulong is the second school recipient of AHON Foundation's book donations in DepED Manila, the first being Lapulapu Elementary School which is headed by Ms. Marilou Calma. Schools interested to partner with AHON may take a cue from the stories of Principals Mojica and Calma.

ISANG LAHI, An AC Herrera Cultural Presentation
AC Herrera Elementary School in Tondo, Manila staged a cultural presentation entitled ISANG LAHI on March 23, 2012. The one and a half hour cultural show featured dances from the Cordilleras, Muslim, Maria Clara and rural dances. Ms. Concepcion Pasumbal , PE Supervisor, acknowledged with admiration the excellent presentation of native dances which were ably put together by Ms. Natividad G. Corpuz with the able help of her co-teachers. Aside from Principal Ms. Marilyn Osunero who provided the inspiration for the realization of the project, parents, former teachers and alumni of ACHerrera Elementary School supported the show through sponsorships and donations. HOn. Councilor Lacsamana, former principal Wilfredo Nillo, District II Principal Ms. Marilou Calma and ASDS Narcisa Sta.Ana also attended the cultural activity.
